Surah Ya-Sin (يس)

36:1
يسٓ
Yaaseen. (Only Allaah knows the correct meaning of these letters.)
36:2
وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
By the oath of the wise (powerful) Qur'aan.
36:3
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
You (O Muhammad ﷺ) are verily among the Ambiyaa...
36:4
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
...on the straight path (Islaam).
36:5
تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
(This Qur'aan is) A revelation of the Mighty, the Most Merciful.
36:6
لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ
(It was revealed) To warn a nation (the Arabs) whose forefathers were not warned (by a Nabi since the demise of Isa عليه الصلاة والسلام many centuries earlier) and who were (therefore) negligent (disregarded their duties to Allaah).
36:7
لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
The decision has been passed against most of them that they will not have Imaan (and are destined to die as Kuffaar).
