The Holy Quran 36:18 — Surah Ya-Sin

Arabic text

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Translation

The people said, "We augur (see) evil from you (only evil can be expected from your presence here). If you do not desist (stop preaching), we will surely stone you and a painful punishment from us will definitely afflict you."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال أهل القرية: إنا تَشَاءَمْنا بكم، لئن لم تكُفُّوا عن دعوتكم لنا لنقتلنكم رميًا بالحجارة، وليصيبنكم منَّا عذاب أليم موجع.
