The Holy Quran 36:14 — Surah Ya-Sin

Arabic text

إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ

Translation

(It is worth mentioning the time) When We sent two (Prophets) to them, and the people rejected them, after which We reinforced them with a third (Prophet) and they said (to the people), "We have certainly been sent as messengers to you people."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

واضرب -أيها الرسول- لمشركي قومك الرادِّين لدعوتك مثلا يعتبرون به، وهو قصة أهل القرية، حين ذهب إليهم المرسلون، إذ أرسلنا إليهم رسولين لدعوتهم إلى الإيمان بالله وترك عبادة غيره، فكذَّب أهل القرية الرسولين، فعزَّزناهما وقويناهما برسول ثالث، فقال الثلاثة لأهل القرية: إنا إليكم -أيها القوم- مرسلون.
