The Holy Quran 36:67 — Surah Ya-Sin

Arabic text

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ

Translation

If We wish, We could transfigure (distort) them (turning them into pigs or monkeys) as they stand and they will be unable to go ahead (walk forward) or (not return) backwards (they will then be unable to do anything).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولو شئنا لَغَيَّرنا خلقهم وأقعدناهم في أماكنهم، فلا يستطيعون أن يَمْضوا أمامهم، ولا يرجعوا وراءهم.
