The Second Dua

Question

Is the second dua permissible in the Shari‘a or impermissible? If some act in which there is nothing objectionable according to the Shari‘a did not occur in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, is it permissible to do such an act or impermissible? Does its non-occurrence entail, according to the Shari‘a, its impermissibility or not? And is the non-occurrence and non-issuance [of something] in the prophetic era a Shari‘a proof (hujja) or not? How many are the Shari‘a proofs that are hujja, and which are they?

Answer

Dua is permissible at any time, but the second dua is not established from the Prophet ﷺ or from his noble Companions ﵃; calling it sunna is wrong. Treating something that is in itself mubah (permissible) in such a way that it appears to be wajib or sunna is not correct.
