A second supplication when it disturbs the prayer

Question

We are performing prayer in the mosque, and the imam and the mu’adhdhin have begun the second supplication. Does this disturb our prayer or not, [and] should the prayer be repeated?

Answer

Making a second supplication in a way that disturbs the prayer of others is makruh and should be abandoned; moreover, a second supplication of this kind is not established from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If no fard or wajib was omitted because of the second supplication, there is no need to repeat [the prayer].
