Not Reciting the Tasbih of Fatima

Question

A certain person does not properly recite the sunna tasbih after the Fajr and ‘Asr prayers; instead, quickly, with his mouth closed and moving his fingers, he makes supplication before the imam and the followers have finished their tasbih, and leaves. The followers find this act of his very displeasing. Is this habit wrong or not?

Answer

These tasbihat are not an emphasized sunna such that one who leaves them should be reproached; rather, they are mustahabb. Whoever recites them in the mustahabb manner will obtain reward and good; whoever does not recite them will be deprived of it, yet he will not be sinful.
