A Few Verses from the “Mathnawi”

Question

Kindly and graciously inform me of the answer: what is the correct meaning of the verses written in the “Mathnawi”? [ar]چونکہ بے رنگی اسیر رنگ شد ٭ موسی با فرعون اسیر جنگ شد[/ar] “When colourlessness became the captive of colour ٭ Moses and Pharaoh became captives of war.” [ar]چون به بے رنگی رسی تو داشتن ٭ موسیٰ و فرعون کردا نداشتن[/ar] “When you reach colourlessness… ٭ Moses and Pharaoh…”.

Answer

The “Mathnawi” of Mawlana Rumi ﵀ should be explained by some ‘arif of enlightened heart — and that not in writing, but by presenting oneself before him in person. This humble one has not the strength to explain these verses.
