A Poetic Theory of Death and Life
Question
[ar]زندگی کیا ہے عناصر میں ظہور ترتیب ٭ موت کیا ہے انہیں اجزاء کا پریشان ہونا[/ar] “What is life? The appearance of order among the elements. ٭ What is death? The scattering of those same particles.” Does the above verse not support the communist doctrine? And if it does, then what of an educated Muslim reciting this verse with the understanding that what is stated in it is the very truth? The gist of the matter: does the above verse not deal a crushing blow to Muslim belief?
Answer
What is set out in this verse is no investigation of the Sacred Law, nor did the poet claim to be one bound by the Sacred Law (mukallaf); hence to debate it as though it were a ruling of the Sacred Law is out of place. What is said in it does not fall under the Islamic doctrine; rather, it is the doctrine of those people who hold, for the Necessary Being (wajib al-wujud)
