What to Do with Hair That Falls Out at Ghusl?

Question

Among some women the following is widespread: the hairs of the head that fall out or break off in the state of menstruation (hayd) or janaba are collected; then, when the woman performs the ghusl of purification from janaba, she ties those hairs to her thumb and performs the ghusl, and after the ghusl she buries them. Is there any basis for this, or is it sheer nonsense?

Answer

This is baseless and futile (laghw).
