A Na‘t in the Kashmiri Language

Question

What is the ruling on composing a na‘t (poem of praise) in honour of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in the Kashmiri language?

Answer

To put into verse the sacred events of the life and the lofty qualities of the Noble Prophet ﷺ, composing a na‘t, and to recite it, is correct — whether in the Kashmiri language or in any other; but the content must conform to the authentic noble hadiths, there must be nothing wrong in it, and full adab (reverence) must be observed.
