Reserving One of the Mosque’s Jugs for Oneself
Question
Zayd reserves one of the mosque’s jugs for himself; if someone else uses it, he becomes angry and regards it as impure. What is the Shar‘i ruling?
Answer
This way of Zayd’s is wrong. If he has the misgiving (wahm) that the jug becomes impure through another person’s use, he should abandon this misgiving. If he cannot abandon it, he should buy his own jug, keep it separately and bring it at the time of prayer, so that the occasion for someone else to use it does not even arise.
