Reserving Part of the Mosque for One’s Personal Benefit
Question
Is it permissible to derive personal benefit from any part of the mosque or not? What is the ruling on planting plants and the like in its courtyard, on its roof and so on, and using their fruit?
Answer
It is not permissible to reserve any part of the mosque for one’s personal benefit; so much so that one does not even have the right to reserve a place for oneself for prayer in such a way as to prevent anyone from standing and praying there.
