Building a permanent shrine and the like with the proceeds of the sacrificial hide
Question
Question: Is it permissible to use the hide of the sacrificial animal for building the shrine of one’s spiritual guide or of some saintly person, or for building a permanent (brick-built) grave and a dome for one’s relatives?
Answer
The price of the sacrificial hide, like zakat, must be given away as sadaqa (wajib al-tasadduq) and must be transferred into ownership (wajib al-tamlik) — so it is in “al-Durr al-Mukhtar”. Since in the places mentioned no transfer of ownership (tamlik) takes place, it is not correct to spend it on them. Making a grave permanent (brick-built)
