Giving the price of the sacrificial hide for building a well

Question

Question: What is the ruling if a well is built with the money from the hide of the sacrificial animal?

Answer

If, after performing the sacrifice, he sells the hide, then giving its price away as sadaqa is wajib. If the poor person to whom that price is given, after becoming its owner and taking possession of it, gives it for building a well, then spending it on the construction is correct.
