The Proxy for Hajj Going to Madinah First

Question

(1) Cautious scholars forbid the one performing Hajj badal (proxy Hajj) from performing tamattu‘. Nowadays, however, the matter of ship tickets is such that one sometimes has to leave very early. Therefore some people of knowledge going for Hajj badal do the following: they first go to Madinah (Madina Munawwara), and on the way back from there they enter ihram of ifrad for the Hajj badal at Dhu’l-Hulayfa. Is there any harm in doing this? Is this way permissible or not?

Answer

(1) Doing so with the permission of the one who commissions the Hajj is correct. (2) This too is correct with permission.
