The Difference Between a Wage for Khatm al-Qur’an and for Khatm al-Bukhari
Question
Answer
(1) The khatm of “Sahih al-Bukhari” is by way of treatment and ruqya (healing recitation), and taking a wage for it is correct; whereas the khatm of the Qur’an is for isal al-thawab (conveying reward to the deceased), and when the wage is the aim, there is no reward for mere recitation. This is the difference.
