A Feast on Completing the Hifz of the Qur’an

Question

My child has memorized the Holy Qur’an. I intend to hold a gathering for encouragement and to distribute sweets. Is there any objection in the Sacred Law to doing so?

Answer

The Holy Qur’an is a very great treasure from Allah ﷻ, and to memorize it is a very great treasure. If, by way of thanksgiving, friends and acquaintances are invited and the poor and friends are fed, this is an appreciation of this blessing, and it is not prohibited.
