Deception by a madrasa fundraiser
Question
Zayd is a fundraiser at a large institution on the condition that he will never leave the work of this institution during Ramadan and will abide by its rules. But Zayd deceitfully left without resigning and spread propaganda against the madrasa. Somewhere he collected donations in the madrasa’s name, and then broke open the box and took out the money. Is such a person not deserving of censure and reproach? Should a lawsuit be filed against him? And is it right to take back the salary from him or not?
Answer
If the matter is indeed as described, that person is very much deserving of blame. The madrasa’s property that he took should be recovered from him. The salary he received while absent should also be recovered.
