A particular calligraphic inscription in the mosque’s mihrab

Question

(1) The following inscription is installed in the Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad.

Answer

(1) Ghawth is a rank and an office, not in its literal meaning. However, since beliefs are corrupted by it — that is, people regard him as one who answers cries for help, hears everyone’s call and arrives to help — it is necessary to avoid it. (2)
