A Child Fell into a Well, and There Was No Impurity on Him
Question
A minor but discerning child fell into a well and came out alive. There were clothes on his body; he does not pray, nor does he cleanse himself properly in istinja’. What is the ruling on the well?
Answer
If a minor but discerning boy fell into the well and came out alive, and there was no impurity on his clothes or body, the well has not become impure. Nevertheless, as a precaution, forty or fifty buckets of water should be drawn out, so that people do not fall into misgiving (wahm).
