Roosters Fell into a Well — How Many Buckets of Water Should Be Drawn Out?

Two or three roosters fell into a well and came out alive. How much water should be drawn out?

Answer

20 or 30 buckets should be drawn out. [ar]وإن كان سؤره مكروهًا يُستحب أن يُنزح منها عشرة دلاء ونحوها[/ar] “And if its leftover [water after drinking] (su’r) is makruh, it is recommended (mustahabb) to draw out ten buckets or so from it” (Kabiri, p. 157).
