Someone Fell and Died in a Non-Muslim’s Well: How It Is Purified

Question

Someone committed suicide in a well, or a dead body was found in it. According to the ruling, all of its water ought to be removed, but because it belongs to a non-Muslim this could not be done, and non-Muslims kept drawing water from it. When will its water become fit for Muslims to use?

Answer

Whatever amount of water was in the well at the time it became impure (for example, three hundred buckets) — once that much water has come out of it, the well will become pure, in whatever way it came out. One should estimate this amount and act accordingly.
