What is the limit of qunut al-nazila and the khatm of Ya Sin?

Question

Ever since the riots took place in Godhra, qunut al-nazila has been recited to this day. After the 'isha' prayer a khatm of the noble [sura] Ya Sin is held, and then a supplication is made. What we need to know is: is there any limit to qunut al-nazila and the khatm of Ya Sin? Until when should they be recited? Is there proof for the khatm of Ya Sin from the Qur'an and hadith or not?

Answer

Qunut al-nazila is like a treatment: as long as the illness lasts, the treatment continues. The virtues of the noble [sura] Ya Sin are found in the hadiths; for warding off calamities it is very beneficial and tried and tested. The command to supplicate is in the Noble Qur'an, and supplication has been called “the marrow of worship”.
