Another word in place of “dammir diyarahum” in qunut al-nazila

Question

In qunut al-nazila there are the words “dammir diyarahum” (دَمِّرْ دِيَارَهُمْ — “destroy their dwellings”). Regarding them a certain religious scholar holds that in the very lands where the unbelievers live, we too reside; when their lands are ruined, we too will be ruined along with them.

Answer

For this purpose such a change is appropriate; the prayer will not be impaired by it.
