The ruling on the prayer when a mistake in recitation is followed by the correct reading
Question
What kind of mistake in the prayer makes the prayer fasid (invalid)? If the meaning changed and then [the worshipper] corrected it and repeated it, did the prayer thereby become valid? Sometimes the breath breaks off in the middle of a phrase — is there any harm in this or not? And is there any difference between the tashahhud and the like and the recitation, or is the ruling the same?
Answer
A mistake that is incompatible with the prayer makes the prayer fasid. If the prayer became fasid through distortion of the meaning, then repeating that word correctly did not make the prayer valid; rather, repeating the prayer will be necessary.
