Joining the ra’ of “akbar” to the lam of “Allah” in the adhan and iqama

Question

The hamza [of the word] “Allah” is original (asli). Is it permissible in the adhan to read by joining the ra’ of “akbar” to the lam and dropping the original hamza, that is, to read “Allahu akbaru-llahu akbar”, and in the takbir (iqama) to read in the same way — joining [the ra’] to the lam [of the following “Allah”] after the first “Allahu akbar” and dropping the original hamza? And likewise, how is reading “hayya ‘ala-l-salah” and “hayya ‘ala-l-falah”, etc. in the takbir?

Answer

The best is that the ra’ of “Allahu akbar” be read sakin and a pause (sakta) made on it. If it is joined, then in such a way that the (alif-hamza) of the second “Allahu akbar” is dropped and the fatha of the alif is carried over onto the ra’. If, instead of the fatha, a damma is read on the ra’ — and this is the damma of i‘rab (case ending)
