Drawing out the words of the adhan
Question
If some mu’adhdhin reads the adhan drawing it out and embellishes his voice, while the words of the adhan are correct, will the adhan be [valid]? And if he does not read correctly, but only has a good voice, and for this reason the common people want him — will the adhan and iqama of this mu’adhdhin be [valid], and will the prayer be [valid] or not? And if he reads the adhan in the correct way but makes mistakes in the takbir (iqama), what is the case?
Answer
Drawing out [the words] out of place, so that the words become distorted, is not proper; such an adhan should be repeated. If the same happens in the takbir (iqama), that too is not proper: the sunna is not fulfilled by it. Someone who reads correctly should be appointed as imam and mukabbir.
