The Place of the Adhan before the Khutba: the Words “at the Door of the Mosque” in the Narration of Muhammad ibn Ishaq

Question

Concerning the adhan of the Friday khutba, there are two narrations in the hadith from Sa’ib ibn Yazid ﵁. In one of them the words “at the door of the mosque” (على باب المسجد) are absent, and the noble jurists have cited it; while in the hadith narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq on p. 156 of “Sunan Abi Dawud” the words “at the door of the mosque” are present, yet the noble jurists do not cite it.
