How should one treat a girl who committed zina, and the boy?
Question
A girl from our village, fifteen or sixteen years old, has not yet been married according to the custom of the community, and meanwhile a child has been born to her, who is now four months old. When the villagers asked her, she named a particular man in reply, and that man denies it. Now, how should one associate in society with this girl and her child, and how should one associate in society with that particular man from whose zina this child was born?
Answer
That child is innocent; he cannot be given the punishment of severing relations. His mother, however, is at fault. If she sincerely admits her wrong, repents and sets her conduct right, then there is every hope that Allah Most High too will accept her repentance.
