Has Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇ Died?

Question

Is it established from the Holy Qur’an that Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇ was raised bodily to the fourth heaven, and that he will then descend to earth? If this is correct, then kindly cite that verse. Among the Muslims here a dispute is going on as to whether Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇ has died or is alive according to the Qur’an — which is correct? Zayd says that “tawaffi” is a verb of the form tafa‘‘ul; Allah the Exalted is the agent (fa‘il), and Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇ is a living being (dhi ruh) and the object (maf‘ul)

Answer

Before the answer, first fix one point in your mind by way of preface; after that it will be easier to understand. The original source of guidance is the Holy Qur’an, “a guidance for mankind” (هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ — Surah al-Baqara, 2:185).
