Will ‘Isa ﵇ After His Descent Be a Prophet or a Member of the Umma?

Question

(1) Is Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ the last prophet? One who claims prophethood after him, and one who affirms that claim — is he a believer or a kafir? (2) Was Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇ raised alive to the heavens? If he was raised, will he descend near the Day of Judgement? If so, as a member of the Umma (an ummati) or as a prophet? Note: the answers are requested with Qur’anic proofs.

Answer

(1) That Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ is the Seal of the Prophets (khatam al-nabiyyin) is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an: [ar]مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ[/ar] “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets” (Surah al-Ahzab, 33:40).
