Use of Mosque Property by Tablighi Jamaats

Question

(1) Here, in the Jamiʿ Masjid of the city of Aligarh, Tablighi Jamaats (groups of the Tablighi Jamaat) keep coming; they stay in the mosque and hold their gatherings in the mosque. After the congregational Zuhr prayer and after finishing the sunna and nafl prayers, they begin reading their book and talking about religion.

Answer

The money of the mosque’s waqf is spent on the mosque and within the terms of the waqf, under the supervision and by the decision of the waqf’s managing committee. Spending it contrary to the intention of the waqif (endower) is not permitted; indeed, even the committee has no right to grant such permission. (1) It is not permitted. (2) It is not permitted. (3)
