Scribal Work in a Mosque Chamber

Question

If a person lives in the mosque’s chamber in order to guard the mosque and also does scribal work there, is this permissible or not?

Answer

If the purpose is guarding the mosque, it is permissible (“Fatawa ʿAlamgiri”, vol. 4, p. 70).
