Use of the Mosque’s Hot Water by Those Who Do Not Pray
Question
What is the ruling on a person who does not pray using the mosque’s hot water, which is meant for wudu — performing ghusl, washing hands and face, washing clothes? After all, if it is not used after ʿIsha, it will cool down by itself by Fajr.
Answer
As for water that is heated in the mosque for the worshippers, it is not correct for those who do not pray to use it for washing the face or washing clothes, for it is great shamelessness. Nor should they take it home — they should perform wudu within the mosque’s enclosure itself.
