Living with the divorced wife after three talaqs

Question

Question: Zayd gave his wife three talaqs. A fatwa was requested from Dar al-‘Ulum Deoband, and according to the fatwa the ruling was issued that a major (mughallaza) divorce had taken effect on Zayd’s wife. Yet Zayd lives with his wife without halala: Zayd’s wife, his father-in-law and Zayd himself do not act on this fatwa.

Answer

The son must adopt such a course by which respect for his father is preserved and this blameworthy thing also comes to an end: he should neither be insolent towards his father nor cooperate in this matter. In common usage (‘urf)
