The Ghusl of an Excused Person and His Leading the Prayer

Question

Ghusl of janaba is wajib upon a person. If he performs ghusl before the Fajr prayer, while the cold is also severe, he is certain that he will fall ill. Should he, after performing tayammum in place of ghusl, perform wudu and offer the Fajr prayer at home, or may he go to the mosque and offer the Fajr prayer [there], given that he is also the imam of that mosque and no one more qualified than him is present?

Answer

If there is a means of heating water, the water should be heated; otherwise, perform tayammum and pray, and do not let the prayer become qada’. The tayammum performed for ghusl will suffice for wudu as well. If wudu is not harmful, perform wudu before tayammum.
