The method of completing the Qur’an in tarawih
Question
What is the sunna method of completing the Qur’an in tarawih? If someone, at the khatm of the Qur’an, in the last two rak‘as recites in the first [of them] from “Alif Lam Mim”, or from Ayat al-Kursi, or from “Amana al-Rasul” to the end of the sura, making [that] one rak‘a, and in the second recites all the supplication verses of the Noble Qur’an, so that the first rak‘a becomes short and the second long, and the people, on hearing it, begin to weep very loudly — how far is this correct?
Answer
If ten verses are recited in each rak‘a, the Qur’an will be completed in tarawih with great moderation. If the followers (muqtadis) have the stamina and the desire, then doing two khatms and three khatms is higher and better (afdal).
