Should the khatm of the Qur’an end with Surat al-Nas or with verses of Surat al-Baqara?

Question

Hafizes complete the khatm of the Qur’an with Surat al-Nas, while most hafizes recite up to the words “they are the successful” (هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ). Which way is correct?

Answer

Both are correct; the second is better (afdal). (Thus in “al-Durr al-Mukhtar”, p. 570, vol. 1.)
