Reciting Surah al-Baqarah in the Final Tarawih

Question

Nowadays many huffaz have the practice that in the very last Tarawih when completing the Qur’an, they recite Surah al-Nas in the first rak‘ah, and in the second rak‘ah they recite a portion from Surah al-Baqarah. Does this not create an issue since it appears to reverse the order of the surahs? If there is no problem, how is it justified?

Answer

There is no problem in this, rather it is preferable to do so. It is mentioned in Maraqi al-Falah: “If the Qur’an is completed in the first rak‘ah, then in the second rak‘ah one should recite from Surah al-Baqarah, based on the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: ‘The best of people is the one who completes the Qur’an and then begins again.
