Praying in Dyed Clothing

Question

If a garment is dyed with the present-day foreign non-fast dyes, can prayer in that garment be valid or not? And if the dye is thoroughly boiled and the garment washed, and then washed [again] after the garment dries, is it permissible to pray in such a garment or not?

Answer

It is written in “Fatawa Rashidiyya” that wine is mixed into foreign dye, and therefore this dye is impure. It is not valid to pray wearing or wrapping oneself in a garment dyed with an impure dye. If the dye is fast, the garment should be purified after dyeing, and then prayer in it will be valid.
