Praying with an Intrauterine Device (IUD) Fitted

Question

Does having a loop (intrauterine device) fitted cause any defect in women’s prayer and in their recitation of the Noble Qur’an — given that the loop is sometimes also fitted as a medical treatment?

Answer

If the loop is pure and has been fitted for treatment, then in such a state nothing — prayer, recitation and the like — is prohibited; all of it is valid.
