Praying in a State of Janaba

Question

Zayd, while in a state of impurity, forgetfully performed the morning prayer; afterwards it occurred to him that ghusl had been wajib upon him. Is it now necessary to repeat the prayer or not? And will Zayd be held to account in any way by the Sacred Law for praying without ghusl?

Answer

Repeating it (i‘ada) is necessary; there is no accountability for this forgetfulness.
