How to pray in the rainy season when no dry ground can be found
Question
In our area the land is submerged during the rainy season, and when a farmer goes out to work there is nothing but water. How should he perform the prayer in such a situation?
Answer
If no dry ground can be found, there is nothing but water and one cannot perform the prostration (sajda), then one should pray by gestures (ima’), that is, for the sajda one should make a sign by lowering the head somewhat close to the water.
