Marriage of a Father and His Son to Two Sisters

Question

Can two full sisters be married to a father and his own son or not? Previously they have no kinship at all with these women.

Answer

If no other Shari‘a impediment exists, this marriage is permissible. If a woman is married to some man, the daughter of this woman does not become prohibited to that man’s father; so her sister will all the more not be prohibited: [ar]وَأَمَّا بِنْتُ زَوْجَةِ أَبِيهِ أَوِ ابْنِهِ فَحَلَالٌ[/ar] “As for the daughter of the wife of his father or of his son, she is lawful”…
