Marriages of Three Girls to Three Men

Question

Zayd was married to Hinda, and from her a son, Badr, was born. After that Hinda died; then Zayd married a second time — Sultana, who brought with her to Zayd’s home a son of her first husband Qamar, Ja‘far. Sultana is alive. Sultana’s full paternal uncle — the father’s younger or elder brother — has Raziya, and Raziya was married to Furqan. From Raziya three daughters were born, named Nargis, Rayhana and Najma. Is the marriage of these three girls to Zayd, Badr and Ja‘far permissible or not, while Sultana is alive?

Answer

Raziya, the wife of Furqan, has three daughters — Nargis, Rayhana and Najma. If one of them is married to Zayd, the husband of Sultana, who is Raziya’s paternal cousin, another to Zayd’s son Badr, and another to Ja‘far ibn Qamar, the son of Zayd’s wife Sultana, then it is valid according to the Shari‘a. In none of these is there even a suspicion of prohibition.
