An Eid Prayer for Women in the Congregational Mosque
Question
Here the Eid prayer has for a long time been held both at the Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) and in the Congregational Mosque. This year the Congregational Mosque committee announced on the night of Eid that the prayer would be at the Eidgah and that in the Congregational Mosque there would be the women's prayer, and that no man should come to the Congregational Mosque.
Answer
Performing the Eid prayer by going out to the Eidgah is better (afdal) and mustahabb. The Eid prayer is not upon women. Arranging a separate Eid prayer for them in the Congregational Mosque, such that no man goes there and only women perform the Eid prayer there, is a wrong practice; there is no proof for it anywhere in the Shari'a.
