Du'a and Shaking Hands after the Eid Prayer
Question
Should the imam of the Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) make du'a after the Eid prayers or after the khutba? And what is the ruling on shaking hands (musafaha) and embracing (mu'anaqa)?
Answer
Let them make du'a after the Eid prayer; making du'a after the khutba has no basis. The Eid handshake and embrace are a bid'a (innovation in religion).
