The Eid flag and a woman delivering the Eid khutba

Question

Where we live, a flag is raised on Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the Night of Decree; the purpose is only to inform people so that they become aware. How is this? Also, women come from all around and perform the Eid al-Fitr prayer, and it is the women themselves who deliver the khutba, give speeches and also collect donations for a madrasa. How is this?

Answer

Raising a flag to announce Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha is not established [in the Shari‘a]. Women holding a congregation for the Eid prayer, with a woman herself becoming the imam and delivering the khutba, is prohibited by the Shari‘a. This flag should be stopped, and women leading the Eid prayer in this way should also be stopped.
