Shaking Hands after the Eid Prayer

Question

Is shaking hands (musafaha) at the Eid prayers, done in expectation of reward, established [in the Shari'a], or is it a bid'a (innovation in religion)? In particular, what is the ruling on the whole congregation falling upon the imam and not observing the sanctity of the mosque? At times the imam even has to suffer hardship because of this. What are such people to be called according to the Shari'a? Kindly write in detail and oblige us.

Answer

This handshaking is a bid'a and the practice of the Rafidis (rawafid); it is necessary to abandon it. So it is in Radd al-Muhtar.
